 Present Continuous Tense


structure:

Positive  Sub+is/am/are+verb+ing+res.

Negative  Sub+is/am/are+not+verb+ing+res.

Interrogative is/am/are+sub++verb+ing+res?


Examples:

Positive I am talking on the phone.

Negative I am not talking on the phone.

Interrogative Am I talking on the phone?


Definition:

Present Continuous Tense


Case 1:

     P.C.T is used to talk about on action that is happening right now or at the time speaking.

Example: I am writing a latter right now.


Case 2:

      With stative verbs P.C.T is used in the form of S.P.T.

Example: I need your pen.


Case 3:

      Present continuous tense is used to show future with future time expression.

Example: I am taking the English classes in next week.


Case 4: 

      We can also use adverb of frequency with P.C.T.

Example: I am usually going to Peshawar Zoo.


Case 5:

      Present continuous tense is also used to show repeated action.

Examples: The dog is borking.   the baby is crying.
